How can we rebuild the Catholic faith?

We will explore this question by discussing the following:

¨ What do you think the average person thinks of when they hear the word "Catholic"?  

¨ What does the word "Catholic" mean to you?  

¨ What words come to mind to describe the Catholic faith community of OMOS and St. Michael's?

¨ What would an ideal Catholic faith community look like?

¨ What ideas or next steps can you think of that would make our faith community even better?

How can we become a beacon of Christian

life for the Johnstown community?

We will explore this question by discussing the following:

¨ What words or images come to mind when you think of a "beacon of Christian life"?

¨ How are OMOS & St. Michael's already a beacon in this community?

¨ As the body of Christ, what role do you think the Church has in its community?

¨ What great needs are out there in the Johnstown community?

¨ What concrete ideas do you have for how OMOS & St. Michael's can become a beacon of Christian life in Johnstown?

How can we welcome ALL to our faith community?

We will explore this question by discussing the following:

¨ What other words and feelings come to mind when you hear the word "welcome"?

¨ To welcome "all" is a bold statement. How do you feel about that part of the vision statement?

¨ Do you personally feel welcome in the OMOS & St. Michael's faith community?

¨ Are you comfortable welcoming others to this faith community? Why or why not?

¨ What changes or ideas would you suggest to make our faith community even more welcoming to all?

How can we ignite ALL to discover their own

 personal relationship with Jesus?

We will explore this question by discussing the following:

¨ How do you feel about the word "ignite"? What does that mean to you?

¨ How has your own personal relationship with Jesus affected your participation in the OMOS & St.  

     Michael's faith community?

¨ What ignites this relationship with Jesus? How can it happen?

¨ What reasons do you think people have for not having a personal relationship with Jesus? How can these 

     reasons and difficulties be overcome?

¨ Practically speaking, how can we—as a faith community—truly ignite ALL to discover this relationship in

    their own lives?

How can we ignite ALL to become intentional disciples?

We will explore this question by discussing the following:

¨ How do you feel about the phrase "intentional disciple"? What does it mean to you?

¨ If someone asked you, "How do you know that you're an intentional disciple?" what would be your answer?

¨ How does one become an intentional disciple? How did you become one?

¨ How would the faith community of OMOS & St. Michael's be different if ALL members were intentional disciples?

¨ What can we do to help form parishioners (and non-parishioners) into intentional disciples?
