Holy Thursday, April 18

8:00 am Morning Prayer in the Church - A selected reading of scripture and prayer for the beginning of the day.

7:00 pm- Mass of Our Lord’s Supper at OMOS 

8:00 pm – 11:00 pm – Eucharistic Adoration

9:00 pm Our Mother of Sorrows Rosary in the church - the rosary with the seven sorrows of Mary.

10:00 pm Office of the Readings in the church - A selected reading of psalms and scripture to close the day.

 

 Good Friday, April 19

8:00 am Morning Prayer in the church - A selected reading of scripture to begin the day.

9:00 am Altar Server Practice for Good Friday

1:00 pm Liturgy of the Passion at OMOS

- The Good Friday liturgy has three parts: the Liturgy of the Word, the Veneration of the Cross, and the Service of Communion.

4:00 pm Walking Stations of the Cross beginning at OMOS - Walk through the neighborhood stopping at selected houses for the reading of the stations.

6:00 pm Stations of the Cross at St. Michael’s

7:30 pm Tenebrae Service at the Westmont Presbyterian Church - The word ‘tenebrae’ is Latin for shadows. The purpose of the Tenebrae service is to recreate the emotional aspects of the passion story


Holy Saturday, April 20

8:00 am Morning Prayer in the church

10:00 am Lector Practice for Easter Vigil

10:30 am Altar Server Practice for Easter Vigil

11:30 am RCIA Sponsor Practice

12:30 pm Easter Basket Blessing

8:30 pm Easter Vigil Mass at OMOS - The vigil begins between sunset on Holy Saturday and sunrise on Easter Sunday outside the church, where an Easter fire is kindled and the Paschal candle is blessed and then lit. This Paschal candle will be used throughout the season of Easter, remaining in the sanctuary of the church or near the lectern, and throughout the coming year at baptisms and funerals, reminding all that Christ is "light and life".
